Soundcrash Presents: Hector Plimmer

Dreamy sound-scapes and hypnotic beats from a leading member of London’s exciting new Jazz scene

Born and raised in South London, Hector Plimmer is a designer, producer and DJ, who has made considerable waves in the UK and beyond. His fiercely talented mind floats freely in the space between unrestrained, creative musicianship and innovative, cutting-edge music engineering. Invariably, Hector’s projects sound unlike anything that has come before. His music has appeared on Gilles Peterson’s lauded Brownswood Bubblers compilation, he is a winner of the PRS Steve Reid InNOVAtion Award, and, alongside, Google’s Creative Labs, he was instrumental in exploring how AI and neural networks can be used to create music, culminating in a live show in which Hector played alongside, and improvised with, an AI synth. Having played with the likes of Gilles Peterson, Kutmah, Alexander Nut, MNDSGN, Onra, Dego, Kaidi, Max Graef & Glenn Astro; Hector finds himself in the good company of artists who play across the spectrum of genres, from Hip-hop, Beats, Funk and Soul, to Disco, Afro-beat, House and Jazz.

Now, Hector is taking on Pickle Factory for his debut headline show and the launch of a brand new album. Expect a night of delicately crafted tunes that pull inspiration from electronica, jazz, and the future of music itself.
