2018 Q3 Announcement
Oval Space and The Pickle Factory in-house programming this year has gone from strength to strength. This shows no sign of slowing as a brace of exceptional parties happening in Bethnal Green between mid July - September are revealed.
Oval Space welcomes a string of iconic artists through it's doors in the coming months. Firstly, a Josey Rebelle Presents collaboration as part of her on-going E2 residency, featuring A Guy Called Gerald, Actress, Rroxymore, Danielle, plus as ever Judah on MC duties. That same weekend, minimalist innovator and bona-fide creative genius Terry Riley performs at Oval Space across two dates alongside his son Gyan, with the sold-out Sunday night performance live streamed by NTS Radio.
Moving into August, the Bank Holiday promises to be one to remember; Mood II Swing, Marcellus Pittman and Pender Street Steppers man the booth for a schooling in all things US house from past, present and future masters of the genre. Finally, September 21st marks a truly special evening, the details of which will be announced in the next week or so. For now, all that can be disclosed is that DJ Bone will be curating a party with some legendary Detroit pals. On that note, plenty of other Oval Space shows will be coming out the woodwork as the summer progresses - keep eyes keenly peeled.
At The Pickle Factory, two seminal artists dominate the remainder of July; broken beat don Nu Era aka Marc Mac plays on July 21st, before DJ Bone plays All Night Long the following weekend. August's programming demonstrates a breath of sounds that Pickle is becoming renown for. House and techno from the likes of Andrew James Gustav and Convextion (3rd), Dr Rubenstein and Plant43 (10th), an I Love Acid collaboration on the 17th featuring amongst others live sets from both Altern-8 and Ceephax Acid Crew and a Japan showcase on the 26th with Soichi Terada, Kuniyuki and Kay Suzuki playing live beside a Very Special Guest still TBA. Of course their resident parties are also well represented; Body Hammer take the reigns on August 18th before Nick The Record and John Gomez's flawless Tangent party steps up two weeks afterwards.
DnB continues it's 2018 renaissance at Pickle, with parties in collaboration with Lenzman's North Quarter (August 4th), and Hybrid Minds (September 1st), alongside our bi-weekly Thursday night sessions with Soul In Motion. Moving into September, a final flourish of absorbing talent rounds of Q3, with Discodromo (7th), Francesco Del Garda b2b Evan Baggs (14th), Solar b2b Jane Fitz (21st) and a Freerotation collaboration featuring Cubic Space Collective (Live), Steevio & Suzybee (Live), Leif and Tom Ellis & Joe Ellis (28th).
